Welcoming Colocation and Managed Compute to the APEX Console

Explore the new capabilities of the APEX Console to further simplify your IT experience.

From the outset, the APEX Console has been about unifying your experiences across all of APEX while simplifying and accelerating IT service delivery. We have extended the familiar APEX Console experience with two new exciting features:

    • Integration of the latest APEX offer, APEX Cloud Services with VMware Cloud, a joint engineering effort between Dell Technologies and VMware, to deliver scalable and flexible infrastructure as-a-Service.
    • Expanded support for APEX Data Storage Services to include a Dell managed colocation deployment option through our partnership with Equinix.

With these new features, the APEX Console Journey continues to bring Dell’s UX principles to life, putting the needs of you – our users – at the center of every step of the journey across APEX.

APEX Cloud Services with VMware Cloud Joins the Catalog

APEX Cloud Services with VMware Cloud allows organizations to focus their resources on what matters – innovation and delivering value to their customers. This offering is for medium to large-scale organizations looking to show results and react quickly to changing business demands without the hassle of capital hardware costs, infrastructure maintenance or complex management tools.

APEX Cloud Services with VMware Cloud is an Infrastructure-as-a-Service that provides software-defined compute, storage and networking with secure and consistent operations across multi-cloud environments – private, public and edge. The infrastructure is owned and managed by Dell Technologies, freeing customers from the hassles of day-to-day infrastructure management.

We have made it easy for our customers to explore and subscribe to this new service seamlessly through the same APEX Console experience, tailored to the specific users within your organization.

For example, a cloud architect can explore various configurations of APEX Cloud Services with VMware Cloud, saving drafts along the way to ensure they configure a service with the right balance of cost and performance. A procurement user can pull reports and approve draft orders quickly and easily. An IT or finance leader can keep track of monthly cloud spending across all APEX services, clearly and transparently, all in one place. With the APEX Console, you are empowered to configure the service based on the outcomes you need, not the underlying technology.

Streamlining Managed Colocation Deployments for APEX Data Storage Services

Building on the collaboration between Dell and data center provider Equinix, Dell recently announced that APEX Data Storage Services customers can now opt for Dell managed colocation deployments. This means that you can simply select the Dell managed colocation deployment option for APEX Data Storage Services and pick from Equinix data centers across the US, UK, France, Germany and Australia.

This collaboration with Equinix delivers trusted storage services, available in an as-a-Service model, providing a streamlined option to expand your international IT footprint. The Equinix partnership provides global scale, leading technologies, IT expertise and risk avoidance in infrastructure lifecycle management. Customers can simplify operations and reduce challenges associated with data center management by deploying in an Equinix colocation facility, all maintained by a single vendor with a single invoice.

The Journey Continues

Innovation is always at the heart of our customers, and our customers are at the heart of everything we do. The APEX Console journey continues, working to help bring these innovations to life through an immersive, consistent and always self-service experience. Keep an eye out for new integrations and additional capabilities and features, with more to come on the two exciting new offers announced earlier this month.
