    Bill Schmarzo developed a maturity model to help businesses understand where they are with Big Data proficiency.     1. Business Monitoring is how organizations begin with Big Data, by deploying business intelligence tools to monitor current business performance. This approach is about reporting on the past to know what happened, such as how many widgets I sold last month, or profit for the last quarter.
