1 Based on 1Q19 shipments of x86 servers. Source: IDC Quarterly Server Tracker, Q1 2019.
2 Based on Dell Technologies internal testing in March 2019 comparing a PowerEdge R740xd with 2nd Generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors and 2 x 1.6TB Mixed Use NVMes using Microsoft SQL Server 2019 CTP 2.3, VMware ESXi 6.7U1 and a RHEL 7.6GA vs the same R740xd configuration except for substituting the NVMes for 12 x 256GB DIMMs of Intel® Optane™DC persistent memory. Workload used is derived from TPC-C to SQL Server 2019 CTP 2.3 performance. The results obtained with the derived workload are not comparable to published TPC-C results. Actual results will vary.
3 Based on a Dell EMC Engineering study using the TPC-C benchmark to test Microsoft SQL Server 2016, July 2017. Actual performance will vary.
4Based on TPC Benchmark H (TPC-H), Sept 2020, the Dell EMC PowerEdge R940xa server has a TPC-H Composite Query-per-Hour metric of 1,420,550 when run against a 10,000GB Microsoft SQL Server 2019 database in a non-clustered environment yielding a TPC-H Price/Performance of $0.67 USD per query-per-hour (based on August 2020 currency rate). Actual results may vary based on operating environment.
