EMC Japan recognizes the importance of proper protections for any information that can identify a specific individual (hereafter referred to as "personal information") and complies with all relevant laws and regulations, including "Act on the Protection of Personal Information." We have established the following policies:
1) EMC Japan has established clear management rules for collection, usage, provision, sharing, and any other activities regarding personal information. We are committed to follow these rules to ensure proper management of personal information. We will clearly state the purpose of personal information collection and provide contact information before we collect your personal information. We only ask for the types of personal information necessary to fulfill the stated purpose.
2) EMC Japan will only use your personal information to fulfill valid purposes, such as to develop better products, provide better services, and deliver useful information.
3) EMC will never disclose or provide your personal information to any third parties without your prior permission, unless there is a valid reason to do so. When we must provide your personal information to our outsourcing companies, we will make sure that these outsourcing companies properly protect your personal information through a means such as a non-disclosure agreement. We will make sure that your personal information is properly managed in our outsourcing companies.
4) EMC Japan is committed to prevent leakage, loss, and tampering of, and illegal access to, your personal information through proper protection measures.
5) EMC Japan is committed to comply with all the laws and regulations related to protection of your personal information. We are also committed to continuously review and improve this privacy statement.

EMC Corporation, including its affiliates, RSA Security, Decho, Data Domain, Iomega, Greenplum and Isilon (collectively "EMC") counts among its most valuable corporate assets its trademarks and logos (collectively "EMC trademark" and "EMC trademarks") and the goodwill that they represent. To protect these assets, EMC is diligent in its protection of the EMC trademarks and expects its licensees and others wishing to use the EMC trademarks to use them in a manner that helps us protect and strengthen our valuable trademarks and the goodwill that they represent. The following guidelines should be followed to insure proper usage of EMC trademarks and to prevent any damage to them that can result from improper usage.
By using an EMC trademark, you acknowledge that EMC is the sole owner of the trademark and that you will not challenge EMC's use, registrations of, or applications to register such trademark. Any goodwill derived from the use of an EMC trademark shall exclusively inure to the benefit of EMC.
Proper Use of EMC Trademarks
To insure proper use of an EMC trademark, you must adhere to the following:
On product packaging, advertising and other collateral, use of an EMC trademark must be less prominent than your brand, preferably by use of a different type font, size and color.
The EMC trademark must be used independently and separately from your trade names, service marks, logos or trademarks;
Your own name, trademark or logo must be displayed wherever the EMC trademark is displayed;
The EMC trademark must only be used as an adjective followed by a generic description of the branded goods or services the first time it is used in text, and as often as possible after that;

An attribution statement must be included in a legend on packaging, splash screens, web pages, and other materials where the EMC trademarks appear. The statement should read:"EMC, (list of other EMC marks used) is/are either registered trademarks or trademarks of EMC Corporation in the United States and/or other countries."
The EMC trademark must be used only in the exact form indicated by EMC; and
You must comply with an EMCrequest to correct, remedy, or discontinue any use of the EMC trademark which is determined by EMC to be improper under these guidelines.
Relationship of Products or Services
You may indicate that your product or service is related to an EMC product or service by using an appropriate phrase, such as "for," "for use with," or "works with," as long as your usage does not create the impression of any partnership with or endorsement by EMC, and as long as your usage does not create the possibility of confusion as to the source of the product.
You may not use EMC trademarks in any way that could cause confusion as to the source of the goods/services in connection with which the EMC trademarks are used or in any way that could damage the valuablegoodwill in the trademarks that EMC has developed. Accordingly, you must not:
Display an EMC trademark more prominently, or larger than, or before your name or logo or your product name or logo, wherever displayed;
Refer to your products with respect to which the EMC trademark is referenced as an EMC product or imply that EMC produced, endorsed, or supports the products;
Use an EMC trademark in any way that it was not intended to be used;
Display the EMC trademark in a manner or location disparaging to EMC;
Display the EMC trademark in any publication or on a website that is pornographic, violent in nature, is in poor taste or unlawful, or which has a purpose or objective of encouraging unlawful activities;
Use the EMC trademark as a noun, verb, in the possessive form or in the plural form; or
You must comply with an EMC request to correct, remedy, or discontinue any use of the EMC trademark which is determined by EMC to be improper under these guidelines.
Domain Names and Web Sites
You may not include an EMC trademark or any word or phrase similar to an EMC trademark in any domain name or as meta tags or hidden text in any web site. You may not use an EMC trademark or any word or phrase similar to an EMC trademark as an adword or search marketing term.
Use of EMC Logos
Notwithstanding any other statement in these guidelines, third parties such as EMC partners or other business entities with which EMC has a business relationship may be licensed to use an EMC logo in certain pre-approved instances. EMC logos may be usedonlyunder the terms of a written logo license agreement from EMC. To inquire about obtaining a logo license, please contact your sales representative.
EMC owns several trademarks and logos that represent its various programs, such as the EMC® Velocity™ Partner Program. Only licensed participants in an EMC program are authorized to use the trademark or logo associated with that program.
You may not use any EMC tagline.
