Dell OEM Solutions Joins the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA); Check Us Out at the TIA Conference June 5-7

TIA Conference 2012 - Dallas, Texas

Just a few short months after announcing that Dell OEM Solutions is entering the telecommunications market with the launch of our new carrier-grade, NEBS compliant 12th generation PowerEdge servers, we wanted to let you know that Dell OEM has joined the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA).  By joining TIA, we are demonstrating further commitment to the telco-market and we look forward to working with the TIA ecosystem on enhancing the business environment and innovations coming from the industry.

We’re also heading to Dallas, Texas for the TIA Conference next week (June 5-7) as a premier sponsor.  After making an appearance at Mobile World Congress, the NAB Show and CTIA Wireless 2012, we look forward to continuing the conversation at TIA.  We’ll be around to discuss the telecommunications industry, where it’s headed and how Dell OEM Solutions can help power the companies who want to turn their intellectual property into solutions for their customers by leveraging our world class engineering and supply chain capabilities.

Take a look at what we’ll be doing during the show and please stop by and visit with us if you get the chance.

  • Wednesday, June 6 from 9:00-9:25am CT in Dallas 2 (Gaylord Ballroom Level): Come listen to me assess the risks and benefits of moving towards commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) platforms. For more than 30 years, the telco industry has self-regulated and driven technology development from a list of precise guidelines incorporated into very proprietary platforms and disparate components. While it’s been a successful model for decades, increasing cost pressures, design complexity and data management challenges indicate a paradigm shift may be afoot. This session will highlight the pros and cons of moving to standards-based platforms; where the industry has begun driving standardization; and how to ensure standards-based platforms will meet the complex and unique needs of telco providers.
  • Wednesday, June 6 from 3:45–4:00pm CT at the TV Studio (Booth 634): Ron Pugh, executive director and general manager of Dell OEM Solutions, will conduct a TIA TV interview where he will discuss how Dell is creating new business models to stay competitive and new relationships with developers to further innovation.  Ron will also provide background on why we’ve entered the telecommunications industry and where we see the industry in the next few years.  Be sure to look for the interview online here.
  • Wednesday, June 6 – Thursday, June 7 in Meeting Room 743: We’ll be in meeting room 743 during show floor hours, talking about Dell OEM Solutions and our new carrier-grade, NEBS compliant servers.  Stop by to find out how these servers are designed to deliver high performance, maximum scalability and safe and reliable service.

We look forward to seeing you in Dallas!
