On April 5, 2017, VMware announced end of availability of vSphere Data Protection (VDP). For a limited time, Dell EMC is extending a special offer to help VDP customers transition to Dell EMC Avamar Virtual Edition (AVE).
Avamar, the underlying technology in the VDP solution, provides fast, scalable deduplication backup optimized for virtual environments. Using the vSphere Data Protection UI, you can easily perform a one-time migration from VDP to Avamar/Avamar Virtual Edition. The offer includes 3 years of free AVE licensing to protect the first 4TB of protected data. Maintenance costs will continue to apply during this 3-year period. Offer valid through October 15, 2017.
