AI-ready Object Storage: Filling the Innovation Pipeline

Dell Object Storage meets the evolving needs of organizations hungry for performance, economics and value in the era of AI.

Object Storage for Modern Business

Every organization I talk to is hungry to do more with their diverse, growing data. More than ever, they’re collecting and consuming it in the form of unstructured data, and specifically objects.

Why modern object storage in particular? It gives application developers and data science teams fast, reliable access to data they need at scale with an experience that’s familiar to them from the public cloud. It also provides compelling economics for a range of workloads—from analytics, AI and generative AI (GenAI) to backup and archiving. Object storage powers innovation as core storage for the Dell AI-Ready Data Platform.

What’s Your Flavor?

Data is evolving in the era of AI, and so are the flavors of object storage on which organizations rely. At Dell Technologies, we believe it’s key to have the right storage consumption options ready to choose from during the journey.

With modern object, organizations can support everything ranging from traditional “heavier” data stored in a dense repository to lighter and more modern fare (i.e., cloud-native, microservices-based applications). They can accelerate existing compute environments by layering on the latest software-defined storage and Kubernetes automation. Or they can simplify further with a turnkey experience (appliance model or as a service).

Then, enterprises are ready to do more, faster throughout the AI lifecycle. This includes filling their Dell Data Lakehouse with scalable and performant object storage for data preparation—so they can wrangle valuable raw and derived training data sets for AI. Customers can also store and quickly deliver model artifacts for augmented inferencing, including data for batch inferencing. They can access data in public cloud for certain time-sensitive queries with lower network bandwidth. All while keeping their data protected globally with cyber-assurance backed by blazing-fast backups and restores.

Explore the Opportunities

Drawing on over 20 years of leadership in object storage, Dell Technologies has customers covered with options to fill their innovation pipeline.

Recently, we introduced density-optimized and performance-optimized storage cluster configurations for the Dell Data Lakehouse. They enable organizations to efficiently query data directly where it lives, on the object storage, for faster time to insights.

The latest release of our performance-optimized object storage (Dell ObjectScale 1.4), released this April, features advances in user experience such as faster day 1 operations and advanced monitoring. It’s available as an application for customers’ Red Hat OpenShift environments, in a software bundle with Kubernetes managed by Dell Technologies or as a turnkey all-flash appliance, ObjectScale XF960.

This week, we’re proud to announce we’re extending the power, economics and value of our object storage to the Dell APEX Cloud Platform for Red Hat OpenShift. Collaboratively engineered with Red Hat, this Dell APEX offering provides a streamlined and automated turnkey solution that transforms how organizations run Red Hat OpenShift on-premises. Customers can quickly get started with powerful AI tools on-premises on a fully integrated, fully managed solution. This makes data preparation and augmented inferencing with Dell Object even easier, by plugging faster into commercial and public AI models as well as structured data management tools through Dell Data Lakehouse. The offering also includes new validated designs to deploy a virtual assistant using large language models (LLMs) more quickly or deliver automated speech recognition (ASR) and text-to-speech (TTS) capabilities.

We invite everyone to explore the possibilities by visiting our object storage sessions and talking with our experts at Dell Technologies World May 20-23 in Las Vegas. Learn more about Dell Object Storage and solutions with Red Hat OpenShift.
