One of the goals of the Dell Systems Management Group, within Dell Software, is to integrate our existing and newly acquired capabilities in a compelling way for our customers. Dell KACE, a 2010 acquisition, has integrated with many of Dell’s existing technologies like Open Manage Essentials, SonicWALL, SecureWorks, and Dell Updates to deliver a unified, consistent user experience across our breadth of enterprise systems management and security solutions. Dell KACE products offer great value for customers by helping them manage all their Dell assets (as well as non-Dell systems) including laptops, desktops, servers and tablets through a single, easy-to-use Web-based console.
As we align our efforts around new products impacting the industry like Windows 8, Windows Server 2012 and Windows 8 tablets, we are excited to offer our latest version of the Dell KACE K1000 Systems Management Appliance. This latest version will enhance endpoint security and add support for new operating systems including Windows 8 (x86), Windows Server 2012, Ubuntu Linux, SUSE Linux and Mac OSX Mountain Lion. The end result is that our customers will be able to effectively and efficiently manage and secure their endpoints running on the latest operating systems, starting day one.
The new release is strategic to Dell as we solidify our position as an end-to-end IT software solution provider. It will also be a key enabling technology to address the Windows 8 market as we go forward with our recently announced Windows 8 supported tablets, laptops and desktops. The K1000 continues to reinforce Dell’s commitment to becoming the leader in the mid-market systems management software solutions space, by delivering secure, comprehensive support, while giving IT administrators flexibility and control in an affordable, scalable way.
