Just a few moments ago, Ron Garriques, President of Dell's Communication Solutions group, took the stage at the D8: All Things Digital conference sharing more about our mobility strategy along with an onstage demo of the new Dell Streak. The annual conference, hosted by renowned Wall Street Journal technology columnists Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher, brings together the most influential leaders in media and technology, focusing on innovation, exclusive expert insights and candid conversations.
Ron showcased the new Dell Streak, a customized 5-inch Android-based tablet designed to provide people the best "on-the-go" entertainment, social connection, and navigation experience (in case you haven't heard 
). And as Lionel mentioned last week, Streak is now available across the UK at O2 stores, O2.co.uk, The Carphone Warehouse, and will be available later this summer in the U.S. I've been using a Streak for the past few months and love that I can listen to my Last.fm, GChat with my friends and be surfing the web simultaneously. Oh, and the larger screen definitely makes you the envy of everyone at the airport when watching movies!
You might be wondering how this mobile device fits in with the devices you already have – your smartphone, your laptop, etc. Ron shared a personal example of how his family uses Streak to complement one of their favorite hobbies, running. He showed how he can watch a video clip of his daughter in a race while updating his Facebook profile, messaging a colleague and toggling seamlessly between applications.
