Have you ever been to Boston in November? How about Seattle or Chicago? Well, I was able to visit those 3 cities over a 10 day stretch as part of our Next Generation OEM Solutions Roadshow. Aside from jet lag and some nice hotel soap, I took home some fantastic insights about how our OEM customers are looking to leverage the next wave of product and services innovations as part of their products.
Further proving that partnership has its benefits, these seminars are the first in the history of Dell OEM aimed at sharing with our customer and partner community our plans for next generation servers 3+ months in advance of the release of these products. In fact, many Dell IT account teams haven’t yet seen how Sandy Bridgeis being included into the PowerEdge server roadmap.
Mind you, there is good reason for this; fundamentally, OEM customers need access to this type of information well in advance of IT customers as these systems are part of their supply chain and not their back end IT infrastructure. And one of the main rules of marketing is “Know your customer”, thus our effort at this types of advanced information sharing.
Along those lines, thanks to the 148 OEM customers, partners and Dell employees who attended the first 3 stops of the roadshow. And if you happen to be in Dallas (11/29) and Atlanta (12/1) and are interested in attending, please contact your local Dell OEM account team or email medirectly.
