Reconnect Expands in Ohio

Goodwill We welcome the newest member of the Reconnect family today, the Sandusky Bay Area Goodwill in Sandusky, Ohio.  Consumers in the four county area served by SBA Goodwill can now drop off any brand of used computer to any of eight Goodwill stores in the area for free, convenient and responsible recycling.  And, any proceeds from the recycling benefit Goodwill’s critical job training and creation efforts for the disabled and disadvantaged.

Ohio State Senator Mark Wagoner applauded the program, stating, “At a time when Ohioans are looking for ways to reduce their impact on the environment and preserve it for future generations, the Reconnect Program is providing a unique opportunity to recycle old, outdated computer equipment. I personally want to offer my thanks and support to Dell and SBA Goodwill for their efforts and the launch of this innovative recycling program.”

SBA Goodwill is our second Reconnect member in Ohio, their neighbors in the Toledo area joined earlier this year.  With today’s launch Reconnect offers 575 drop-off locations for free computer recycling to consumers.  Dell and Goodwill are continuing to expand this program quickly so that more consumers can take advantage of a free computer recycling program that also benefits their communities.  Last week Reconnect expanded to cover the entire Commonwealth of Virginia and the Washington, D.C. metro area.  And as always, consumers reading this who are in an area not yet served by Reconnect can take advantage of Dell’s free recycling home pick-up programs.

Stay tuned for more Reconnect news to come – we have more expansions planned in the near future and you’ll see a new look on the Reconnect Web site soon.
