Mechanical Issue with Dell 24-45W AC Adapter 3-Position Duckhead Connector

Dell 24-45W AC Adapter 3-Position Duckhead Connector (8DHY9)Because we are committed to proactively notify customers of important product quality information, I wanted to let Direct2Dell readers know that we have recently noticed that select customers who purchased a Dell 24-45W AC Adapter with 3-Position “Duckhead” Connector (pictured here) may experience mechanical issues with the connector.

We are directly reaching out to customers in the education sector, where these connectors were primarily purchased, asking them to discontinue use of the 3-Position “Duckhead” Connector and use a standard power cord to connect the AC adapter to the power outlet. We have also asked that they either return the used product to Dell or dispose of it responsibly. For more details on responsible disposal, visit our recycling website: www.dell.com/recycling

Any customers who have this specific connector may continue to use the 3-Position “Duckhead” Connector as intended, or if concerned, may contact Tech Support for additional information.
