Looking Forward to Social South Tomorrow

Social South Earlier today, RichardatDell and I made it to Birmingham Alabama today to take part in Social South. It’s a two-day social media event that kicks off tomorrow and looks to have a pretty exciting agenda. Over the next two days, there are lots of sessions dedicated to four different areas of social media: tools, communication tactics, strategy and case studies.

I’m also pumped about being able to share a keynote with @RichardatDell. Our purpose is to talk about Dell’s social media strategy. We’ve worked together since the early days of Dell getting involved with social media in 2006. Some of you know Richard pretty well from his conversations in the blogosphere and on Twitter. In my view, he’s one of Dell’s best examples of the value of having conversations wherever they occur. There’s a huge value in that, and I think a lot of companies overlook its importance. We’ll talk about that and more starting at 12pm Central Time tomorrow.

Beyond the keynotes and sessions, I’m excited to take part in the Social Media Conversations part that kicks off the afternoon sessions.I’ll be there to discuss aspects of the benefits of business blogging with Mack Collier. These conversation sessions will be driven by questions and topics raised by the audience, so slides aren’t part of it. Lots of good sessions to choose from there as well.

If you’re interested in keeping up with some of these sessions, follow @SocialSouth and track the Twitter stream at #soso. And if you’re interested in photos, check out the Social South Flickr Group after things kick off tomorrow.

If you have any questions  or topics you’d like to tee up, submit a comment here or reach out to me (@LionelatDell) or Richard (@RichardatDell) on Twitter.
