Every August as summer days start to shorten, and our attention quickly shifts from beach fun to back-to-school shoes and bus schedules, many of us here at EMC are sprinting to the finish line of another important event. Oh yes – you guessed it – it’s time for VMworld. Let’s run through where you will find EMC and the Federation at VMworld.
With 23,000 attendees, more than 400 technical sessions and 240 sponsors and exhibitors – VMworld takes over the city of San Francisco. Having been there from the beginning, EMC has grown with VMworld and is dedicated to showcasing to our customers our alignment with VMware and demonstrating why we are indeed better together.
This year EMC has a huge presence along with our strong eco-system of strategic technology partners including Intel, Cap Gemini, Brocade and Cisco. Our theme this year is “Redefine IT” encompassing Infrastructure, flash, data protection, along with Federation solutions for cloud, big data and end user computing.
Stay with me – it’ll take more than 140 characters to summarize all the things we’re doing at VMworld this year…
EMC has 33 sessions covering topics from uncovering value in your hybrid cloud to SAP HANA vSphere deployment with XtremIO . Among them is Chad Sakac’s “face-melting” smorgasbord of technical goodies on Monday afternoon. He’ll also host a meet-up in our booth on Tuesday at 1 pm.
The EMC Federation will be there in full force showcasing solutions at designated pods in VMware’s booth. You can also catch us for Federation office hours in the partner lounge on Monday afternoon at 3 pm and at the W on Wednesday from 11:30 – 2 to chat with folks from each of the Federation companies. Experts will be on hand to speak with you about hybrid cloud, Data Lake, dev ops, end user computing. Joining us this year will be Virtustream – the Federation’s newest member company with its cloud management portfolio.
The EMC booth will feature dozens of theater sessions – including 13 from our partners- a genius bar, and conversation stations to drive our message of leadership in flash, hybrid cloud, big data, and converged infrastructure to attendees.
The VMware community is fully engaged during the event with a fundraising vOdgeball event, 5K race and plenty of social activities throughout the week.
The Everything VMware at EMC community page is where you can find more details on all the activities I’ve mentioned above. Find it here https://community.emc.com/docs/DOC-46092.
The best part of VMworld for me is the opportunity to engage our customers together with EMC experts. Join us as we Redefine IT!
Goodbye Summer – hello Fall.
