Isilon Enters the Leaders Quadrant

Fantastic news … but before I go any further, check out the Gartner “Magic Quadrant for Midrange and High-End NAS Solutions” .

Now, isn’t our placement great?

This says three key things to me:

  • Scale-Out NAS is now firmly recognized as enterprise-class mid-range and high-end NAS. There should be no question; more and more firms are facing scaling challenges with traditional NAS and SAN approaches.
  • Isilon is executing well. Our progress in 2009 combined with our continuing track record of product innovation speaks firmly to that. The other three vendors in the Leaders quadrant are multi-billion dollar companies – to be in the same playing field is a huge testimony to our execution and our completeness of vision.
  • We are the leader in Scale-Out NAS. Isilon continues to move further and further away from other storage players; we are firmly establishing ourselves as the serious up-and-coming challenger.

As a recap, we are the only vendor on the planet who can build a 10 PB, single file system, single namespace storage system capable of scaling capacity and/or performance in 60 seconds – with the click of a button. Things are looking up and to the right.
