Hybrid Cloud – New Options for Choice and Simplicity

Topics in this article

Wouldn’t it be great if specific types of application workloads could have their own ideal cloud platform?  Some workloads are best suited for public clouds.  In some cases, the cost of running a workload over time in the public cloud far exceeds the cost of a private cloud.  Hybrid cloud provides the choice and flexibility many organizations seek.  A new IDC study commissioned by Dell EMC shows that many IT organizations are already well down the hybrid cloud computing path. The study shows that 79.7 percent of large organizations have a hybrid cloud strategy in place.

officeIn collaboration with Microsoft, this week we’re excited to announce a new hybrid cloud platform that provides the flexibility IT organizations need to deploy applications in Microsoft Azure or Microsoft Azure Stack:  Dell EMC Cloud for Microsoft Azure Stack.

Dell EMC pioneered hybrid cloud platforms with Enterprise Hybrid Cloud and Native Hybrid Cloud, which are based on VMware and Pivotal Cloud Foundry.  Cloud for Microsoft Azure Stack is a great addition, expanding our hybrid cloud platforms portfolio to offer customers greater choice, simplicity and agility than ever before – to flexibly respond to changing business requirements on their terms.

Microsoft Azure Stack was built specifically to bring Azure on-premises; therefore, applications, services and tools are consistent with those available in the Azure public cloud.  This code portability between Azure and Azure Stack allows customers to deploy applications where they run best.

Dell EMC Cloud for Microsoft Azure Stack brings together leading technologies from Dell EMC in a full turnkey hybrid cloud platform. This powerful new offering accelerates and sustains IT transformation, while reducing operational risk and complexity for customers who have chosen Azure as part of their cloud strategy.  And there’s more to come!  Dell EMC IP will help customers realize their vision of IT and digital transformation in new ways with scale-out, software defined storage, software defined data services, cloud native apps, analytics and Internet of Things use cases, just to name a few – all secured with our market-leading data protection and encryption-as-a-service capabilities.

All of the Dell EMC hybrid cloud computing capabilities will be on display at the Dell EMC World 2017 conference next week. Whether you’re a Microsoft or VMware customer, the Converged Platform and Solutions Division (CPSD) of Dell EMC is dedicated to providing IT organizations choice and simplicity.

We are committed to ensuring our customers retain maximum control over their application workloads, right down to providing a broad range of services that make it possible to secure applications wherever they run.

Watch out for more Dell EMC World related announcements and posts coming up in this blog series before, during and after the show!
