How IT Departments Can Reduce Time Spent on Manual Tasks

In November, we joined IT professionals from around the country at the Midwest Management Summit, one of the most popular forums of Microsoft System Center experts in the world. The summit was a great opportunity to meet with customers to discuss their priorities and business pressures, and most importantly, learn how we can continue to be a valuable partner to them.

While there, we previewed the updated Dell Client Command Suite to a room of over 80 Dell customers, and received tremendous feedback: we were delighted to hear from customers that our management tools “are a big reason we are a Dell shop” and “an added value to their hardware.”

In speaking with these customers, one issue came through loud and clear: IT departments are challenged to effectively manage IT investments while also ensuring workers have the resources they need to maintain productivity. For most businesses, this means maintaining the health of employee PCs from day one, and extending the life expectancy of devices through greater streamlining and automation services.

Addressing this need is behind our latest suite of system management capabilities, and it’s why we continue to produce the industry’s most manageable PCs. In fact, all business client brands that feature Intel 6th generation processors, including Dell Latitude, OptiPlex and Dell Precision systems plus Venue Pro tablets and even XPS laptops, are 100 percent manageable by Dell’s Client Command Suite.

To help organizations increase efficiency and reduce time spent on manual and error-prone tasks, we’re excited to provide customers with a range of enhancements to our Dell Client Command Suite including:

  • New Windows 10 Support: Dell was the only PC hardware provider to be ready at launch with over 60 Windows 10 Driver Packs, and we continue to provide leading support to customers as they transition to Windows 10
  • Dell Command | Power Manager: Features a new Battery Extender Mode capability that allows Admins to adjust their system settings to prolong battery life with one click, reducing energy-intense hardware processes via an easy-to-use and modern GUI.
  • Dell Command | PowerShell Provider 1.0:  This capability expands IT Administrators’ ability to enforce organizational policy when users move in and out of managed domains and/or alter their client settings. This enables BIOS management capabilities via the PowerShell Gallery, a cloud repository hosted by Microsoft.

  • Dell Command | Deploy Driver Pack Catalog: This new solution launching in early 2016 will provide customers with critical OS deployment driver management entirely from within the Microsoft SCCM console and eliminate the need to go back to TechCenter for consultation.
  • Dell Command | Intel vPro Out of Band – Also launching in early 2016, this solution will add unique capabilities to receive out of band indications to the existing BIOS and power management capabilities that go beyond the standard Intel® vPro™ features.

IT managers have more challenges than ever, and we know manageability is a key factor motivating IT departments when selecting solutions for their workforce. These solutions are available at no additional cost to our commercial customers, so IT managers can spend their budgets enabling productivity in other new and innovative ways.
