Today, Dell offers the industry’s most comprehensive portfolio and only “end-to-end” cloud IP and solutions. An important element of Dell’s cloud solution is the deep healthcare expertise of Dell Services’ consultants.

Dell’s understanding of the future demands around healthcare breakthroughs such as genomics, as well as the current demands on IT, has prompted many customers to move their imaging systems to the Dell cloud. To assist them, Dell operates the industry’s largest cloud-based, vendor-neutral clinical archive – The Dell Cloud Clinical Archive, which now manages more than 10 billion images and more than 145 million medical studies. To give you some perspective, at the end of 2013, we were managing approximately 7 billion images and more than 90 million clinical studies.

It’s easy to understand how and why the number of images is growing so fast. Today, people are tapping into healthcare services more frequently throughout their lives and they are simply living longer. Add to that the increasing use of technology in healthcare and the result is an unprecedented amount of medical imaging data to store, access, share and protect. Traditional medical imaging archive and vendor-neutral archive solutions lack the efficiency and scale necessary for clinical imaging. Think of the research possibilities available with this data. By unlocking those insights, we can help provide better patient care and make more accurate clinical decisions.

Dell also offers a fully-managed cloud solution for medical practices and providers. This solution has helped lower costs, manage complex healthcare IT systems, address mandated security requirements and handle staffing challenges for hundreds of physicians. During the past four years, Dell has doubled its physician business from 21,000 users to 43,000 users and from 8.6 million to 16.7 million logins. Additionally, Dell’s fully-compliant cloud hosting solution for providers, for just one industry-leading EHR, increased from being deployed at 12 hospitals to 72 in 2015, and Dell offers a Cloud Recovery option that allows healthcare organizations to backup and restore to secure environments, staffed with healthcare application expertise. Dell’s Healthcare Cloud have over 1,200 Physician Customers, over 130 Provider Customers, 1,300 Clinical Archive customers and manages over 30 petabytes of data.

Kittitas Valley Healthcare (KVH), a critical-access hospital with primary and specialty care clinics that serve rural Kittitas County in Washington state is just one example of a medical provider using Dell’s cloud solutions for medical providers.

“Now there’s no such thing as a ‘lost chart’ that takes 30 minutes to find,” says Kathryn Houck, NextGen Project Manager at Kittitas Valley Healthcare, United States. “It’s always there with our NextGen EHR system hosted by Dell.”

KVH lacked the server space and expertise to deploy an EHR system cost-effectively for itself and for a consortium of other rural healthcare providers. By using an EHR system securely hosted in Dell’s cloud, KVH improved the continuity of its patient care while gaining greater clinical and operating efficiencies.  The solution ensures compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements while providing maximum uptime with a 99.9-percent application availability guarantee.
