Episode #21: DevOps : Critical to your Business

Definition:  DevOps (a clipped compound of “development” and “operations”) is a software development method that emphasizes the roles of both software developers and other information-technology (IT) professionals with an emphasis on IT Operations.

Application development is critical to business success.  DevOps promises to improve your IT organization’s ability to respond to new business requirements by accelerating the delivery of new custom-built applications, along with updates to existing applications.   Transforming application development teams and operational teams improve the way people, process and technology work together.

Brian Whitman (@Brian_D_Whitman) presented “Why DevOps is Critical to Your Business” at the 2015 EMC Forum event in New York City.   I sat down with Brian to review his breakout session, and get more details on why DevOps is Critical.
