What a difference a year makes! EMC as a bystander in Atlanta to an Event Sponsor in Paris and today a Premier Sponsor in Vancouver. Crawling, walking, and now running!
This week, EMC is announcing the availability of two new OpenStack solutions as part of the Reference Architecture Program announced last November in Paris. The solutions were built in close collaboration with key partners Canonical and Mirantis in EMC labs then tested, optimized, and certified.
The solutions take standard “out-of-the-box” OpenStack distributions from our partners with EMC VNX and XtremIO arrays, EMC’s ScaleIO Software Defined Storage, and Brocade’s 6510 switches. The EMC drivers used are available directly with your preferred partner distribution.
The solution for Canonical can be found at the following link and the solution for Mirantis at the following link. Representations of each architecture are captured below. The release of the new solutions underscores EMC commitment to providing customers choice. EMC customers can now choose to build an OpenStack cloud based on an all-EMC solution, or, one based on integration with Canonical or Mirantis with Red Hat and VMware Integrated OpenStack (VIO) soon to come.
At the core of EMC’s rapid acceleration into OpenStack and the broader open source community are:
- New OpenStack Cloud reference architectures developed in collaboration with (and certified by) key OpenStack leaders
- New open source community contributions including software defined storage controller CoprHD, EMC {Code}, a newly launched EMC CloudFoundry Dojo, and EMC’s recent OPNFV
- New Cinder & Manila drivers for Kilo release
