Dell Wins Open Leadership Award from the Altimeter Group

image I remember seeing the news when Jeremiah joined Altimeter Group. I remember how I felt at the time, something that came across in my blog post on the topic. Charlene Li and Jeremiah Owyang are two people I hold in high regard and who I continue to learn from. And that's a big reason why I'm pumped to share the news that Dell recently claimed an Open Leadership Award for our social media efforts.

Last night, Dell won the Open Leadership Award in the Innovation and Execution category. Altimeter announced the winners yesterday evening during their two-day Rise of Social Commerce event in Palo Alto, California. The Altimeter Group kicked off the awards program this year, based on the concept behind Charlene's well-reviewed book called Open Leadership. award criteria: Innovation and Execution; Leadership; Creating Impact; and Overcoming Barriers.

Manish Mehta, our VP of Global Online was on hand to accept the award.  He was also part of a packed agenda  that featured a  stellar lineup of speakers from companies such as Delta Airlines, Dell, Newell Rubbermaid, Best Buy, Virgin America, Hallmark, Wet Seal, and Facebook.

Still lots of good discussions coming oDay 2 of Rise of Social Commerce. If you're want to follow the conference, keep up with the #rsc10 hashtag on Twitter, or check out the RSC10 stream on Ustream.

You can view all of the case studies that considered by the Altimeter Group here. I've attached Dell's submission just below this post. Thanks to the Altimeter Group—we are honored for the recognition.
