Dell Technologies Named CRN’s 2021 Tech Innovator Award Winner

Dell Technologies named CRN’s 2021 Tech Innovator Award Winner in mutiple categories including Hyperconverged Infrastructure, Midrange Storage & Monitors.

We are pleased to announce that Dell Technologies has been named a Winner in two categories for the CRN, a brand of the Channel Company, 2021 Tech Innovator Awards.

CRN’s annual Tech Innovator Awards acknowledge technology vendors that display their ongoing commitment to empowering and enabling end users, while also promoting continuous business growth for solution providers with cutting-edge, purpose-built products and services. A panel of CRN editors reviewed hundreds of vendor products using multiple criteria including key capabilities, uniqueness, technological ingenuity and ability to address customer and partner needs.

Dell EMC PowerStore: groundbreaking intelligent infrastructure

Dell Technologies made significant updates to its award-winning PowerStore portfolio this year, including the introduction of the PowerStore 500 entry model and PowerStoreOS 2.0 software.

PowerStore 500 delivers PowerStore’s enterprise performance and advanced storage services at a price point accessible to businesses of all sizes. It can be used in remote or branch locations, edge environments or larger IT deployments. CRN highlights “The array, which is also available through APEX Flex On Demand service, comes in a 2U form-factor chassis with capacity of up to 1.2 petabytes. It supports up to 2.4 million SQL transactions per minute and 1,500 virtual desktops per appliance.”

PowerStoreOS 2.0 brings new enterprise capabilities to the entire product line, including a massive performance boost, AppsOn scale-out and SCM metadata tiering. CRN’s award mentions the “PowerStoreOS 2.0 software that provides enhanced performance and the ability to run applications directly on the system via the AppsON capability—providing benefits around performance, workload consolidation and mobility.”

Dell EMC VxRail: simplest path to modernization

Dell EMC VxRail earned top honors from CRN in the HCI category. As the only HCI system jointly engineering with VMware, VxRail provides the simplest path to hybrid cloud to transform operations and infrastructure modernization.  CRN has recognized that “VxRail continuously expands and optimizes its platform and ecosystem offerings for the broadest range of use cases, vertical markets and modern applications across the core, edge, and cloud with a consistent, automated infrastructure so customers can continue to innovate. These new platforms and options create thousands of new potential configurations allowing customers to optimize for specific workloads.”

Last fall, Dell released three fully integrated infrastructure delivery options to run vSphere Tanzu, enabling customers to build, run & manage Kubernetes-based applications that align to the customers’ operating model. Earlier this year, support for the latest PowerEdge Servers with 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors was introduced to deliver a modernized, powerful VxRail platform that supports increasingly diverse workloads while simplifying the customer experience.

CRN highlights, “New additions included VxRail dynamic nodes—compute-only systems that can help simplify operations, improve management of storage resources and cut costs.” Dynamic nodes offer flexible storage options through VMware vSAN HCI Mesh or Dell EMC external storage arrays, they scale compute independent of storage and they run on the same HCI System Software as VxRail including the LCM experience.
