Dell Teams with YouTube to Stream Four Major Music Festivals

On the eve of the South by Southwest 2012 Music Festival wrapping up, I thought it made sense to mention something we announced recently—Dell and YouTube are partnering to deliver live webcasts of four of this year’s major music festivals: New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits Music Festival (ACL).

New Orleans Jazz FestivalCollectively, these festivals reach music lovers from different parts of the world. Through our partnership with YouTube, we’re using technology to stream live concert footage and more to share it with more music fans around the world. Some of you may remember back in the summer last year, we did something similar with Lollapalooza and ACL Fest in 2011. This year, we’re building by adding more festivals to the roster.

Producing live streams and video content for music festivals translates to a lot of work behind the scenes. It requires a intense, accelerated workflow that enables near real-Bonnarootime video production. In order to keep up with the live stream demands, many festivals like these are turning to our Dell Precision workstations, which are designed to run professional video applications.

By combining our powerful workstation technology and YouTube’s global reach, music fans around the globe can connect with their favorite bands through multiple live channels, behind-the-scenes footage and exclusive artist interviews. In our view, enhancing the music experience is what this collaboration is all about.

Here are some details about  each of these music festivals:
