Dell’s US Channel Recognized as “Rising Star”

I’m proud to announce that Dell was selected from among hundreds of technology vendors yesterday to receive the Global Technology Distribution Council’s (GTDC) Bronze “Rising Star” award. Rising Stars are distinguished for their ability to forge strong partnerships with technology distributors to produce exceptional results.

GTDC announced all of the winners earlier today. We were selected for the award based on our strong performance in the $100 – $500M Hardware category for year-over-year U.S. revenue growth through distributors.

The GTDC, a worldwide industry association dedicated to defining and promoting the role of the wholesale technology distribution industry, presented the awards last night as part of its annual Vendor Summit event, held this year at the Fairmont Hotel in Newport Beach, Sept. 20-21. GTDC members drive more than $100 billion in annual worldwide “channel” sales.

"Because it's such a substantial and fast-growing part of our business we have altered the core of the company itself to become channel centric," Michael Dell said in a recent CRN UK story. And recognition of that commitment to growing our partner business by receiving awards like this is simply a bonus.

We’re also proud to hear industry analysts like Jeff Hine, consulting analyst, channel program, at Enterprise Strategy Group say things like:

“With its focus on open standards, and its ongoing transformation as an IT solutions and services provider, Dell is a one-stop shop for enterprise and midmarket customers as well as a great partner for channel players.”

We recognize that stability and long-term commitment are important to channel partners and we pride ourselves on delivering what we promise and listening to feedback from those partners to develop a strong channel program.
