Dell Recognized as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies by The Ethisphere Institute

I’m very excited to be able to share today that, for the second year in a row, Dell was named one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies by the authoritative Ethisphere Institute.

The thought of business ethics may bring to mind rules, regulations and codes to be followed, but as our Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer Mike McLaughlin told the Wall Street Journal this past fall, at Dell we want  team members  who are “believers” in doing the right thing at all times rather than just being “obeyers.”

We are fully committed to a culture of integrating ethics and compliance into daily decision-making across every level of the business. So when an independent center of research promoting best practices in corporate ethics and governance such as the Ethisphere Institute takes notice, we feel honored.

This designation is given to organizations that have had a material impact on the way business is conducted by fostering a culture of ethics and transparency at every level of the company. Dell also received this recognition in 2014, building upon our history of excellence and integrity.

“Our team members worldwide are responsible for driving this recognition. I’m proud of our team’s ongoing commitment to engaging ethically with all our stakeholders and to winning with integrity in all we do,” Michael Dell said in our announcement today. I couldn’t agree more.

I know our team members want a work environment that encourages them to care about broader ideas and speak up when they see an issue. As Dell transitioned from a public to a private company last year, our team members have remained dedicated to the same ethical standards, creating the core beliefs of a company that our customers and business partners trust and can be proud of.

We will always stay true to who we are as a company and place the upmost importance on conducting our business to the highest ethical standards at all times, always respecting our customers, partners and fellow team members, and never losing sight of our values as a company and global citizen.
