Dell Employees Support Haiti Humanitarian Effort

Topics in this article

Like you, we’ve been horrified by the devastation and the suffering of those affected by the earthquake in Haiti.  Dell people have always been counted on to recognize needs of others and respond quickly and practically, in this case with implications for saving lives.  We want you to know that we’re working in several ways to assist in the  relief effort now under way.

A corporate cash donation of $500,000 from Dell will be evenly split between the critical work of UNICEF and the International Red Cross humanitarian aid efforts in Haiti. Like people around the world, many of our team members are making personal financial contributions, so we’ve made it simple for them to donate and are matching those employee donations up to a total of $250,000. In addition, Dell people are volunteering for organized efforts within their communities.

The devastation also includes widespread damage to the infrastructure of Haitian government, businesses and public institutions. In response, our teams are reaching out directly to customers and partners with operations in the country to help assess the impact, offer assistance and prioritize our response to vital information technology needs.

We are monitoring the situation and staying in touch with relief and other organizations to see how we can help further. On behalf of the Dell team worldwide, I encourage you to consider how you might make a difference personally by learning more about requirements by clicking on Dell's Haiti Relief Site or by clicking the banner below.
