Dell and The Telegraph partner to help SMEs do more!

Dell has partnered with The Telegraph, one of the UK’s leading national newspapers, to showcase how technology can help them overcome barriers to growth by bringing to life real customer stories such as the Caterham F1 team, software firm CD-adapco, and the Vienna Museum of Natural History

As part of this campaign, in August Dell, Intel and The Telegraph hosted an exclusive Business Technology Solutions event at The Telegraph Headquarters in London. Attended by representatives from 90 small and medium-sized business owners, the goal of the event was to highlight evolving SME landscape along with how technology can play a positive role in the future growth of their businesses.

At the event, I had the pleasure of speaking to the attendees, and share real life examples of how technology has helped our customers such as the Caterham F1 Team to solve critical business issues and get ahead of the competition. It was the perfect opportunity to highlight the ways that in a rapidly changing technological landscape, SMEs can get ahead of the competition and compete with larger rivals.

Attendees also heard from Dr. Peter Cochrane OBE, futurist, former chief technology officer at BT and a co-founder of eBookers, and Matt Warman, consumer technology editor for The Telegraph. Dr Cochrane gave a thought provoking seminar on cloud computing, demonstrating just how secure cloud computing is and explained that the next step for mobile devices is to be able to connect and communicate simply and reliably, without human intervention. He predicts that going to work in an office will soon be a thing of the past and that potential employers will value good problem solving skills over conventional qualifications. You can see a video of his seminar here.

Matt Warman emphasized the need for advanced devices that can combine the professional and the personal. His perspective is that tailoring devices to both the worker and the consumer will allow individuals to access a higher level of technology.

I was honoured to have the opportunity to speak at the event and demonstrate our commitment to empowering growing businesses to scale and better serve their customers.
