ACL Fest kicked off today—it's definitely one of my favorite times of the year. Over 100 bands from around the world play on several stages in Zilker Park. Each stage is within walking distance of the others.
To put it in perspective, I was able to see Pete Yorn, catch Peter Bjorn & John, stop into the Digital Oasis to cool off and spend some time moderating Direct2Dell comments, then catch Joss Stone, Spoon and Bjork—all on day 1 of the 3-day festival.
Besides sponsoring one of the stages, Dell hosted a contest where lots of bands competed for a chance to play onstage at the festival. Earlier this week, the top 5 bands performed live at Antone's where the audience crowned Homer Hiccolm and the Rocketboys the winner. See more details on them and other finalists at the Dell Lounge.
