Dell EMC Forum Riyadh Steers Digital Transformation Conversation towards Saudi National Transformation Discussion

Dell EMC Forum, the premier technology event in Riyadh, returned this year to address the large role IT transformation has to play in not just business transformation, but in national transformation as well.

The Forum, which took place in Riyadh on December 13th, kicked off with a welcome keynote by Mohamed Talaat, VP of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Libya, and Levant who thanked Dell EMC’s customers and partners in Saudi Arabia for their continued faith in Dell EMC’s transformational solutions. Following Talaat’s welcome session were the opening presentations by Turki Badhris and Abdulaziz Aldhobaie who  on the Saudi 2030 vision and the role IT is playing in enabling the vision’s execution over the next few decades.

The keynote was then delivered by Simon Walsh, COO of Virtustream, one of Dell Technologies’ companies, who took the time to guide attendees through the journey of digital transformation as well as share great real life examples of how this transformation affects day to day life.

The Forum included an exhibition area, a favorite experience for visitors every year, which featured a large variety of Dell EMC demoes with subject matter experts answering questions about the entire Dell EMC portfolio. The Dell EMC Forum exhibition also included booths for Virtustream, VMware, RSA, SecureWorks, as well as Dell’s workforce transformation. Here visitors were able to get into in depth conversations with our subject matter experts on their security and workforce transformation needs.

The exhibition also included our top strategic partners in Saudi who took the opportunity to interact with attendees and showcase their value added offerings in Saudi Arabia. STC Business (Saudi Telecom) was on the ground discussing its industry leading offerings and solutions optimized for the public and private sector in the country.

Visitors gravitated towards the INET, Nahil, and VMware booths as conversations around enabling Business and IT Transformation dominated the Dell EMC Forum discussions. Interested to see how their IT organizations can help their businesses become more competitive and closer to their customers, IT professionals explored a wide range of solutions such as converged systems, flash storage, cloud native solutions such as Pivotal, as well as best of breed servers and client solutions.

The Forum exhibition was accompanied by six running presentation tracks, these tracks covered everything from IT Transformation, Cloud Strategy, Workforce & Security Transformation, Digital Transformation, as well as an Arabic track covering the entire portfolio of Dell EMC Solutions.

Ending the day was a Tech-Talks Digital Transformation panel which featured Walid Yehia, Nigel Moulton, and Fadi Yousuf taking questions from the audience with regards to everything covered throughout the day.

Simon Walsh and Mohamed Talaat took this opportunity to welcome Eng. Majed Alotaibi SEO of Mobily Business as they signed a Cloud Agreement between VirtuStream and Mobily Business in Saudi Arabia.

The continued success of the Dell EMC Forum is a testament to the knowledge-hungry Saudi market where Digital Transformation is not limited to the private sector, but is now a major contributor to the Saudi Vision 2030.
