The Boston Red Sox organization uses Dell EMC XtremIO all-flash arrays to support its operations and front office environment, and to store and gather information that helps the company make important decisions affecting both baseball and business. “No other company has been as instrumental to the preservation and protection of Fenway,” according to club President Sam Kennedy. Of course, the Red Sox’s relationship with Dell EMC isn’t just about driving success in the upcoming season – it’s about delivering the performance, reliability and scalability needed to ensure the organization’s technology supports it well into the future.

AIG wanted to enhance the employee onboarding experience by creating a self-service portal where employees could set up virtual machines, and choose and install the software they needed. The company brought Dell on board to provide the strategy, skills and implementation expertise needed to turn its ideal onboarding experience into a reality. According to AIG’s global head of Workplace Services, the project has made a noticeable difference in employee satisfaction. As the team strives for “65,000 smiles” — one for each employee — it continues to find new use cases for the Dell and Dell EMC solutions, such as enabling employees to work remotely on short notice after a flood occurred near one of its India offices.

The 2017 DWEN Summit, comprised of 150 hand-picked attendees from 19 countries, explored how women can grow and scale their businesses in tangible ways through keynotes, breakout sessions and networking sessions.

Dell Provides Young Women Mentorship during the Girls Track at DWEN 2017

Few programs equip girls with the skills to pursue their career interests and passions. This is especially true when it comes to Science, Engineering, Math and Technology (STEM) – fields often dominated by males and now critical to building a successful business. Because studies show girls become disinterested in STEM by middle school, Dell created the DWEN Girls Track for girls ages 12 to 16, which focuses on STEM skills and entrepreneurship to foster peer-to-peer collaboration among the girls and mentorship from DWEN delegates and speakers. As DWEN connects female entrepreneurs with networks, sources of capital, knowledge and technology, the Girls Track invests in girls so that their path to entrepreneurship can be a guided one. At the 2017 DWEN Summit, Girls Track participants joined DWEN delegates during keynote speeches and also had exclusive breakout sessions focusing on key business topics, such as storytelling, goal setting and budgeting.

Bumrungrad International Hospital in Bangkok is committed to providing high-quality personalized healthcare and sees more than 1 million patients each year that come from more than 190 countries. This requires reliable, always-on technology that helps doctors store and access in-depth patient records, including data generated from the hospital’s certified lab that tests more than 10,000 patient samples each day. Understanding that IT downtime could prove critical for providing timely information to patients, the hospital partnered with Dell EMC to provide the IT systems that support its automated lab, microscopes and imaging systems, whose data must all be fed seamlessly into the hospital’s patient health information system. Since implementing Dell EMC technology, the hospital has been able to serve patients with high reliability without interruption and provide patients with a mobile app that gives them secure access to their own patient health information.
