• Code of ethics

      Dell Technologies hereby requests the student participants to adhere to the code of ethics which is a part of the Student Participation Competition (SPC). Any violation of the below mentioned code of ethics by students will hereby result in the elimination of the student from the competition.

      All activity on this site will be administered by the Terms of Use (TOU) team.

      Confidentiality
      Every student is expected to treat their work with utmost confidentiality. Students should work closely with their team and mentors and not disclose any sort of information to anyone who does not have a “need to know”, in order to avoid unnecessary disclosure of potentially novel ideas and competitive information.

      Representation
      Every student is expected to represent him or herself honestly and respectfully in all situations, whether orally or in written statements. Only honest and respectful representation of truthful information should be provided at all times. Students should also behave respectfully with all administrators, faculty, staff, and fellow students.

      Equality and Discrimination
      At no given point will discrimination based on ethnicity, color, creed, race, gender, disability or personality be tolerated on any of the communication platforms, such as social media sites and comment sections on the website, if any.

      Dell Technologies possesses the full right to ban and revoke authorization of participating students if any material it deems inappropriate to its code of ethics.

      Legality

      This site is completely professional with no tolerance for illegal activities such as sale of illegal material or posting of explicit material. Also the site may not be used for marketing activities nor for posting external links and/or promotional material. The site may not be used for uploading personal information, photos, music, software, games, etc.

      Responsibility

      Students are solely responsible for anything they say or post while participating in any of the communication activities. It is thereby recommended that all computers used to access this site be secured with good security systems to avoid infecting the site with a virus or a bug through any of the posts. Each individual is responsible for keeping a backup of all project materials and files as our portal will not work as a server for backing up and/or archiving any information.

      Privacy Policy

      Since this is an interactive platform it is advised that no personal, financial or legal information is shared with strangers on this site, which could be used for illegal or harmful purposes.

      Plagiarism and Unethical Behavior

      Plagiarism and other unethical behaviors are not tolerated in any academic activity in which Dell Technologies participates. All submissions are tested against plagiarism. If any unethical behavior is detected, the submission will be immediately disqualified at any phase from the competition and the academic advisor -and possibly other senior officials of the university- will be formally notified.

      Legality

      Important note about Open Source, Copyright, and Free Licenses:

      Your team's entire entry must only include material (including source code - both open source and third party sourced, user interface, music, video or images) that you own or that you have permission from the copyright/trademark owner to use. Your team's entry may not include copyrighted materials (such as source code, user interface, background music, images or video) unless you own or have permission to use such material.

      WHAT LAWS GOVERN THE WAY THIS COMPETITION IS EXECUTED AND ADMINISTERED?

      This competition shall in all respects be governed exclusively by and construed exclusively in accordance with the laws of Austria (hereinafter called "the Applicable Law"). The Conflict of Laws rules of the Applicable Law shall not be applied. The United Nations Convention for the International Sale of Goods shall not apply. It is agreed that the appropriate court with jurisdiction for 1010 Vienna, Austria shall be competent to resolve any disputes arising out of or as a result of this Agreement

      WHAT OTHER CONDITIONS AM I AGREEING TO BY ENTERING?

      By entering this Competition, you agree:

      To abide by the Official Rules; and
      That all Dell Technologies’ decisions are final and binding on all matters related to this Competition; and
      That, by accepting a prize, Dell Technologies may use your actual name and city, country, or region of residence online and in print, or in any other media, in connection with this Competition, without payment or compensation to you, except where prohibited by law.

      WHAT IF SOMETHING UNEXPECTED HAPPENS AND THE COMPETITION CAN'T RUN AS IT WAS PLANNED?

      If someone cheats, or a virus, bug, bot, catastrophic event, or any other unforeseen or unexpected event that cannot be reasonably anticipated or controlled (also referred to as force majeure) affects the running, fairness and/or integrity of this Competition, we reserve the right to cancel, change, or suspend this Competition. This right is reserved whether the event is due to human or technical error. If a solution cannot be found to restore the integrity of the Competition, we reserve the right to select winners from among all eligible entries received before we had to cancel, change or suspend the Competition.

      WHO IS SPONSORING THIS COMPETITION?

      The competition is operated and managed by Dell Technologies’ Center of Excellence (COE) in Cairo - EMC Egypt Service Centre Limited.

      Award CONDITIONS

      All cash prizes are stated in US dollars, but we, or our local subsidiary, or a designated agent acting on our behalf, may actually disburse the cash prize in the official currency of the winner’s country of residence, based on the prevailing official exchange rate on the date of payment. Unless otherwise indicated in the specific Competition rules, all cash prizes will be divided equally among all officially registered members of a Team but not to associates.

      If you are confirmed as a winner:

      You may not designate someone else as the winner. If a team is unable or unwilling to accept a prize, we may award it to the next highest scoring Team/entrant
      The recipients of any prizes or benefits under the competition shall be solely responsible for the payment of any resulting taxes, social insurance, and all other applicable charges that may be imposed by any relevant government or institution.
      Financial award to be delivered to the team leader and under his responsibility to share it among the team members equally.
