Dell Technologies World 2022 Announcements: All The Tech For All The Solutions

Dell Technologies World 2022 – the theme park for passionate technologists – came to a close at the beginning of this month, in Las Vegas, having brought together the experts and the tech to spark new ideas, deliver insights and fuel innovation.

In line with the Keynote pronouncement that “The future is multi-cloud” and the forecast that edge computing will comprise 75% of enterprise data by 2025 up from 10% today, DTW 2022 was packed with more tech than ever to answer varying, existing needs of customers around the globe.

GET THE MOST OUT OF DATA ANYTIME, ANYWHERE

“Organizations all over the world look to Dell to help them move faster while turning their data into a competitive advantage,” said Jeff Clarke, vice chairman and co-chief operating officer, Dell Technologies.

To this end, Dell Technologies announced it is delivering major software innovation across the portfolio to help customers make the most of their data and resources.

More than 500 software advancements across Dell PowerStore, PowerMax and PowerFlex deliver faster data insights, better multi-cloud data control and increased cyber resiliency at no cost to existing customers.

These advancements are the latest examples of Dell storage software innovation following the introduction of Project Alpine, which will bring the enterprise capacity, performance and protection of Dell storage software to public clouds.

AGILITY, SIMPLICITY AND RESILIENCY

“Our customers want help reducing complexity and are seeking solutions that use a common approach to managing data wherever it lives – from public clouds, to the data center, to the edge,” said Chuck Whitten, co-chief operating officer, Dell Technologies.

To give organizations the ability to unlock the true potential of multi-cloud, Dell announced a portfolio of software and services that simplify complexity across platforms and locations alongside a multi-cloud ecosystem. These solutions include:

Cyber Recovery

As cyber protection continues to become a greater priority, Dell is providing new options for managed cyber recovery offerings and public cloud cyber recovery solutions for multi-cloud environments by:

Data Mobility and Operational Consistency

Dell is continuing to demonstrate how its storage software can be used in public clouds such as AWS and Azure, by building on Project Alpine. With Dell storage software in the public cloud, customers will be able to seamlessly move data to the cloud and leverage cloud-based analytics services. Developers can write applications once and deploy them anywhere they are needed to create a consistent, cloud-native experience across multiple public clouds.

A New Collaboration To Extend The Multi-Cloud Experience

Dell and Snowflake will work together, in a first of its kind collaboration, to connect data from Dell enterprise storage with the Snowflake Data Cloud. This will give customers greater flexibility operating in multi-cloud environments, meet data sovereignty requirements, and easily turn data into insights wherever it resides.

“As the industry leader in data storage, Dell Technologies provides customers with the tools needed to derive insights from their data wherever it resides,” said Jeff Boudreau, president, Dell Technologies Infrastructure Solutions Group. “With the industry’s first collaboration between on-premises storage systems and the Snowflake Data Cloud, we are able to expand Dell’s SaaS provider ecosystem for data insights on-premises and in public clouds.”

REAL CHANGE FOR UNDER-SERVED, REMOTE COMMUNITIES

“Research shows that the greatest impact starts with empowering local communities,” said Cassandra Garber, VP of Environmental and Social Governance, Dell Technologies. “By introducing the Solar Community Hubs, communities will have access to resources and infrastructure to address their most pressing issues. This evolution puts community needs at the center, and we are eager to see – and be a part of – the impact these community partnerships will have around the globe.”

Moving beyond technology access for education alone, Dell’s announcement of its Solar Community Hubs strategy, extends its established Solar Learning Labs program. The hubs improve access to technology, healthcare and workforce skills for communities in remote areas around the world.

In partnership with Computer Aid, Intel and Microsoft, among many others, Solar Community Hubs will be built with Dell technology-enabled solutions and look to introduce 5G, edge computing and other services. Each hub will be managed by the community and will offer services based on each community’s unique needs.

“Whenever we implement a hub, we have kids coming to us every 10 seconds wanting to look inside or ask questions. It’s a nice feeling to see what we can achieve when we put the technology and people together.” – Ruan Malheclient, Solutions Technologist at Dell Technologies

The power of technology and people coming together. The twin engines of inspiration and innovation. Partnership and collaborations. This was at the core of DTW2022.

There will be more to come. Until then, check back here soon for a deeper dive into some of Dell’s announcements.
